RESUMO

Twenty novel longifolene-derived tetraline fused thiazole-amide compounds were synthesized from longifolene, a renewable natural resource. Their structures were characterized by FT-IR, NMR, ESI-MS, and elemental analysis. The in vitro antiproliferative activity of these compounds against SK-OV-3 ovarian cancer cell lines, MCF-7 human breast cancer cell lines, HepG2 human liver cancer cell lines, A549 human lung adenocarcinoma cell lines, and T-24 human bladder cancer cell lines was tested by MTT assay. Compounds 6a-6c displayed significant and broad-spectrum antiproliferative activity against almost the tested cancer cell lines with IC50 in the range of 7.84 to 55.88 µM, of which compound 6c exhibited excellent antiproliferative activities with 7.84 µM IC50 against SKOV-3, 13.68 µM IC50 against HepG2, 15.69 µM IC50 against A549, 19.13 µM IC50 against MCF-7, and 22.05 µM IC50 against T-24, showing better and broad-spectrum antiproliferative effect than that of the positive control 5-FU. Furthermore, the action model was analyzed by the molecular docking study. Some intriguing structure-activity relationships were found and discussed herein by DFT theoretical calculation.

Abscisic acid (ABA) may play an important role in alleviating negative effects of heavy metal stress on growth performance of plants. A pot experiment was conducted to investigate differential effects of exogenous ABA with different concentrations (0, 20, 40, and 60 µmol/L) on heavy metal accumulation and physiological response of Cd/Zn hyperaccumulator Sedum alfredii Hance and non-hyperaccumulator Hylotelephium spectabile (Boreau) H. Ohba grown in co-contaminated soil. In the experiment, Cd, Zn, or Pb concentration in stem and leaf of H. spectabile was significantly increased by exogenous ABA application than control. However, the opposite pattern was observed for S. alfredii. With decrease of Cd concentration, Zn or Pb concentration in root of H. spectabile grown in co-contaminated soil was significantly increased by exogenous ABA application than control. Cd, Zn, or Pb concentration in root of S. alfredii was significantly increased by exogenous ABA application than control. Compared with S. alfredii, BCF and TF of Cd, Zn, or Pb for H. spectabile were significantly increased by exogenous ABA application. With negative effect on root growth, total biomass of the two species, especially H. spectabile, was significantly increased by exogenous ABA application than control. With increase of their total chlorophyll content, antioxidant capacity of the two species subjected to heavy metal stress was improved by exogenous ABA application than control. Heavy metal-induced growth inhibition was significantly alleviated by exogenous ABA application when the two species were grown in co-contaminated soil. We tentatively concluded that differential effects of exogenous ABA application on transport pathway of ions incurred different patterns of heavy metal accumulation between Cd/Zn hyperaccumulator S. alfredii and non-hyperaccumulator H. spectabile. It is suggested that compared with Cd/Zn hyperaccumulator S. alfredii, exogenous ABA application may improve heavy metal uptake in root and transport of heavy metal ions between different organs for non-hyperaccumulator H. spectabile grown in co-contaminated soil. Our results provide insight into effects of exogenous ABA application on phytoremediation of Cd-, Pb-, and Zn-co-contaminated soil.

Seventeen novel 2-(5-amino-1-(substituted sulfonyl)-1H-1,2,4-triazol-3-ylthio)-6- isopropyl-4,4-dimethyl-3,4-dihydronaphthalen-1(2H)-one compounds were synthesized from the abundant and naturally renewable longifolene and their structures were confirmed by FT-IR, NMR, and ESI-MS. The in vitro cytotoxicity of the synthesized compounds was evaluated by standard MTT assay against five human cancer cell lines, i.e., T-24, MCF-7, HepG2, A549, and HT-29. As a result, compounds 6d, 6g, and 6h exhibited better and more broad-spectrum anticancer activity against almost all the tested cancer cell lines than that of the positive control, 5-FU. Some intriguing structure-activity relationships were found and are discussed herein by theoretical calculation.

The iodide in samples was oxidized to iodate by bromine water, which could be removed by formic acid, and iodate could be transformed to I3- with excess of I- in phosphoric acid, the iodate in samples could be transformed directly to I3- with excess of I- in phosphoric acid. The I3- solution had strong absorption at 350 and 288 nm, and the absorbance had a linear relationship to the concentration of I3- in a certain range. Total content of iodide and iodate had been detected after samples were oxidized by bromine water and the content of iodate had been detected directly, and the content of iodide was obtained by difference of the two results. Based on this, the method had been established to detect iodide and iodate in brine and seafood simultaneously by ultraviolet absorption spectrometry. The volumes of bromine water, formic acid, phosphoric acid and potassium iodide had been optimized. The effect of illumination, temperature and time also had been discussed. The optional reagents condition for iodide was: 2 drops of 3% bromine water, 0.5 mL of 10% formic acid, 4 mL of 20% phosphoric acid and 1 mL of 100 g x L(-1 KI. The optional reagents condition for iodate was: 0. 2 mL of 20% phosphoric acid and 1 mL of 100 g x L(-1) KI. The absorbance were determined after reacting for 30 min at room temperature and natural light conditions. Under the optimized conditions, the concentration of iodide and iodate in the range of 0 - 1.2 and 0 -1.5 mg x L(-1) were well agreed with Lambert Beer law. The sample blank was detected for twelve times and the detection limit of iodide and iodate were 1.54 and 14.8 µg x L(-1) respectively. The RSD of twelve times determination of 0.8 mg x L(-1) of iodide and iodate were 0.097% and 0.067%, respectively. The iodide and iodate in Zhabuye brine, Hong Feng underground brine, kelp, seaweed and sea cabbage had been detected, the recovery experiments also had been conducted at the same time, the recovery of iodide and iodate were between 80% - 120%. All the results met the requirement of analytical chemistry.

A comparative analysis of the functional groups and surface structure of the Ca-bentonite (RB) and thiol-modified bentonite (TMB) were characterized by means of FTIR and SEM. The absorptive property of Pb2+ on TMB and RB and its influential factors was studied and the conditions for the adsorption were optimized by using FAAS method. Then the conditions for desorption of Pb2+ from the TMB by using simulated acid rain were studied and the contrast analysis of absorptive stability of Pb2+ on TMB and RB was given. The results showed that the adsorption rate of Pb2+ by TMB could reach more than 98%, when the initial Pb2+ concentration was 100 mg.L-1, the liquid-solid ratio was 5 g.L-1, pH was 6. 0, KNO3 ionic strength was 0. 1 mol.L-1 and adsorption period was 60min at 25 C. The saturated adsorption capacity of TMB was 67.27 mg.g-1; it's much more than that of RB (9.667 mg.g-1). The adsorption of Pb2+ on TMB follows Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models well. Desorption experiments of Pb2+ from TMB with simulated acid rain (pH 3. 50) were done, and the desorption rate was 0. The results showed that TMB has a strong adsorption and fixation capacity for PbZ+; it is adapted to lead contaminated soil for chemical remediation.

The method of determination of iron, titanium and vanadium in indissolvable vanadium and titanium magnetite has been established by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy through adding the complexant A and using microwave-assisted digestion. The optimal conditions are confirmed by orthogonal experiment: 0.1 g vanadium and titanium magnetite, 0.04 g complexant A, 12 mL concentrated HC1, 10 min digestion time, and 385 W microwave power. The newly-established method has been applied to digest vanadium and titanium magnetite of Panzhihua Iron and Steel Institute (GBW07226). The iron, titanium and vanadium were detected by ICP-OES, and both comparative error (Er%) and comparative standard deviation (RSD%) met the demand of analytical chemistry, and the complexant A can significantly accelerate the dissolution of vanadium and titanium magnetite through the complexation with the dissolved metal ions, and making the surface of sample and hydrochloric acid medium to update constantly. The determination of the main and trace elements of digestion solution at the same time was achieved by ICP-OES. The method has the advantages of less use of reagents, economy, rapidness, and being friendly to environment, and it meets the requirement for rapid and volume determination. So the method has the value of practical application for the entry-exit inspection and quarantine department of the state and other relevant inspection units.
